Samsung Alias 2 (SCH-u750)

$320.00 Released May, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Fixes multiple quirks from the previous iteration. Innovative dual hinge design, a flip phone and a qwerty phone at the same time. E-ink keyboard, the keys changes depending on orientation and settings.

The Cons:No headset/headphones included. Earpiece and speakerphone distortion at high call volumes. Music player application is outdated and slow.

The Samsung Alias 2 (SCH-u750) is an entry-level dual-flip/text messaging phone (available on the Verizon network) similar to its predecessor, the Samsung Alias. It features the same dual-flip capability as its predecessor, while bringing a new E-Ink 'Magic' keyboard for easier texting and dialing.

Additionally, the Alias 2 sports a 2.6” QVGA display and a 2.0 megapixel camera as well as Bluetooth and 3G capability.

The Alias 2's dual-flip design allows its keyboard to provide two functions, that of a full QWERTY keyboard and a standard dial pad, more easily. However, its E-Ink Magic keys make this an even more useful ability as the keyboard automatically changes from dial pad to QWERTY depending on how the phone is opened. Its 2.6” QVGA (240x320) display is of a higher resolution than the Alias, providing crisper images and brighter colour reproduction.
