The Samsung T509 is an entry-level candybar handset. It is tri-band receptive on the 2G network, and features a slim frame and 65k-color screen. It has a VGA video camera, with video capture, and allows SMS, EMS, and MMS messaging.

It allows Internet browsing over WAP 2.0, and has numerous basic applications. These includ voice dialing, voice memo, organizer and stopwatch. The T509 has a 500-entry phonebook, Java 2.0 and Bluetooth wireless 2.0. Its data transfer rate is EDGE Class 10, at 236.8 kbps. The phone comes in black and silver, and allows doanloadable polyphonic and mp3 ringtones. It also has a low price point.
