Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness
$1,000.00
Released November, 2009
The Pros:Cool see-through display. Compact and lightweight. 3G.
The Cons:Proprietary FastPort connection is proprietary, is also a huge eyesore on a fashion-minded phone. Limited dumb phone - especially limiting due to the T9 keypad, difficult to read gray-scale display. See-through display adds no functionality whatsoever - actually takes away from the phones usability, difficult to see in light, only gray-scale, is really dumb.
The Sony Ericsson Pureness — aka XPERIA Pureness — is an elegantly designed candybar mobile phone featuring a 1.8” transparent display. Users can actually see their fingers through the display, which is neat and unusual, but makes it absolutely worthless in the daylight.

Other than that, the Pureness is a fairly simple quad-band GSM / 3G phone with HSPA support, Bluetooth A2DP, and USB connectivity. And even then, the 3G browser is questionable since the device renders everything in black and white. Some of the more redeeming features include an integrated FM radio, a built-in music player that supports MP3s and AACs, video streaming/viewing, and email.
Additional Information
The Pureness also supposedly includes a concierge service that provides 24/7 access to local data like the best restaurants, health clubs, concerts, or whatnot.
